Unlock My $50 →Imagine waking up to birdsong, sunlight filtering through the tree canopy, and the sound of your kids already pulling on their shoes — eager to get back to the lake. That's a morning at Big Rock Creek's Family Glamping Tents.
Our Lakeview and Creekside Family Tents are spacious, open-plan glamping tents — think real beds, cozy furnishings, and all the gear you need, set inside a single airy canvas space with the sounds of nature just outside the walls. These aren't hotel rooms; they're genuine glamping tents designed for families who want the wild without sleeping on the ground. Clean, well-maintained shared bathhouses are located nearby on the property. Step outside your door and you're steps from the water's edge — where a private spring-fed lake offers swimming, kayaking, and endless afternoons of dock-jumping and sunfish chasing.
Beyond the lake, 23 miles of trails wind through pine forest, past a lotus pond, alongside a natural spring, and through terrain that feels like something out of a storybook. Rent bikes and explore. Rent a Ranger UTV and cover the whole property. Or simply sit at the fire pit as the golden hour turns the sky violet and your family fills the air with laughter.
Both are open-plan canvas glamping tents with real beds, furnishings, and everything set up for you. Pick the view that calls to your family.

Splash into the private spring-fed lake from your own little slice of shoreline. Floating docks, crystal water, and zero crowds — just your family and the wild.
Hike or bike through pine-scented forest, across meadows buzzing with life, and along the creek beds that give this place its name. Every turn reveals something new.
Paddle out on the private lake with our rental kayaks and canoes. Spot a great blue heron at dawn. Watch the kids discover the quiet magic of gliding across still water.
Cast a line from the dock or the bank. The lake is stocked and ready — a perfect introduction to fishing for little ones and a rewarding afternoon for seasoned anglers.
Buckle the family in and head out on the trails. Cover ground you'd never reach on foot. Spot deer in the meadows, find the natural spring, see the whole 1,000 acres.
Bald eagles circle the valley. Rare albino deer emerge at dusk. Swans glide across the water. Big Rock Creek is a living wildlife sanctuary — and your family has it all to themselves.
When the sun goes down, the fire goes up. S'mores, stories, and a sky full of stars — no light pollution, no distractions. Just your family and the dark-sky brilliance of rural Wisconsin.
Wander past the lotus pond in bloom, explore the picnic areas surrounded by wildflowers, and taste the naturally cold water that flows from Big Rock Creek's famous spring.
Big Rock Creek isn't just a beautiful place to stay — it is a living piece of American history. The centerpiece of the property is the great Barn, known as "Lyon," named in tribute to the legendary Gare de Lyon train station in Paris. Built over 200 years ago from railroad ties and bridge trestles salvaged from downtown Boston, Lyon was once one of the largest barns in western Wisconsin. Run your hand along its beams today and you'll still find the stamps of their Boston origin pressed into the wood.
The estate was forged by the Siems brothers — a generation of engineering marvels — and served as a retreat for the railroad tycoons whose iron rails stitched the American Midwest together. Set within the St. Croix River Valley, one of the most protected natural corridors in the upper Midwest, the property carries the memory of the Ojibwe and Dakota peoples, the Swedish immigrants of the 1850s, and the legendary log jam of 1886 that shaped the region's identity.
